On Sunday, February 23rd we are hosting a friendly interfaith dialogue event!
We have invited attendees of a Surrey-based Gurudwara to join us at PCC for an opportunity to build relationship between Christians and Sikhs through dialoguing about our respective faiths. Well-known Sikh chaplain Inderjeet Singh will represent Sikhism, and our own Isaac Munnalall will represent Christianity.
Both of them will begin the event by laying out the basic tenets of their respective faiths before engaging in a discussion on how Sikhs and Christians can better understand each other. They will address questions such as "What are some misconceptions outsiders have about your faith?" and "What is one thing you wish outsiders knew about your faith?" After this discussion, we will open the floor for questions before concluding with snacks and informal conversation.
The purpose of this event is not to debate or argue, but to foster understanding and love. Our goal is to encourage Sikhs and Christians in Surrey to start conversations about our faiths with one another; this event is a first step toward that. Ideally, it will help Sikhs and Christians who already know each other to deepen their understanding of one another's beliefs.
Please invite Sikh friends, neighbours, and co-workers to join this event with you!
