Winter/Spring Sermon SeriesThe G.O.A.T In recent years, many people from various walks of life have engaged in debates based on topics of conversation that center around determining “The G.O.A.T.” that is, the Greatest of All Time. Whether it be musical debates on the greatest artists or sports debates on the G.O.A.T NBA player; Jordan, Kobe, or LeBron, discussions on identifying the greatest in a particular field of interest have been popularized. In teaching, leadership, pastoring, and spiritual direction, among other fields, Jesus is the undisputed G.O.A.T. He delivered what many consider the greatest message humanity has ever heard or read in Matthew chapters 5 to 7. This message is referred to as the “Sermon on the Mount.” It includes the teaching of Jesus on a variety of subjects about the Christian life, human flourishing, discipleship, and life in the kingdom of God. The Sermon on the Mount ranks among the most well-known and beloved passages of Scripture, and portions of its content are famous even outside of the church. With the “G.O.A.T” status of this teaching of Jesus, we believe it is wise for us to dive into this sermon regularly as it reveals timeless truths that are continually beneficial to us. We invite you to join us each Sunday this Winter and Spring as we engage with this profound passage of Scripture. Our prayerful hope is that God will use this series on “The G.O.A.T” to help us to be a community that perpetually strives to grow in intimacy with Jesus as we make an impact for Him in our world.
