Team’s Purpose

In the biblical narrative, several passages magnify the importance of people demonstrating love and care to each other as we journey through life. For instance, John 13:34-35 states, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.

This passage–along with others–has led Pacific Community Church (PCC) to embrace “life together” as one of our primary values. This means we are committed to welcoming all people into our community, actively befriending strangers, and sharing a community-oriented faith. Our church strives to be a transparent community where we value authenticity and trust; with grace, we bear with one another through life's experiences.

Towards this end, we are launching a PCC Care Team to carry out the scriptural invitation given by God for followers of Jesus to love each other well as He has loved us. The primary purpose/objective of the care team is to embody the love and compassion of the Triune God to His people who call PCC their church home.

Here are the great people who are serving as members of our Care Team: Glen & Sharon Forrester, Caleb & Brittany Rawcliffe, Mike & Kathy Richardson, and Hank & Deb van den Boogaard. Team’s Approach

  • Requests Submission & Assignments: Our church community will be able to submit their requests to be engaged with care from a member of our team assigned to them by submitting their request via the button on the home page of our website, “Are You in Need of Support & Care?
  • Check-ins: After initial introductions, PCC care team members are asked to check in (via email, text, or call) with those assigned to them at least quarterly. Different individuals will require different levels of checking in, as such, care team members are asked to discern the frequency of communication individuals assigned to them require.
  • Follow-up Plan/Steps: PCC care team members are asked to share with PCC’s lead pastor individuals who request and/or need a pastoral follow-up.
  • Scope: The care team members have the privilege of extending care to those assigned to them by inquiring about their well-being, praying for them, encouraging them with Scriptural truths, and exhibiting biblical hospitality. Care team members are NOT asked to provide counseling and/or therapy. If a person communicates the desire to receive counseling and/or therapy, care team members will inform the church’s pastoral team, and they will make the arrangements for the individual to receive this form of specialized care.

We know life can be challenging at times, and as a church that values engaging in Life Together, we are committed to navigating our journeys through the Holy Spirit as a community that truly supports each other by demonstrating Christ-centered love to each other.

Our care team will play an integral part in helping us pursue this value, and we encourage you to connect with us to receive meaningful care & support from this group of wise and loving people.
