Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As a church, we pause to remember the children who never came home, honour the survivors of residential schools, and acknowledge the ongoing impact this painful history has on Indigenous communities today. We invite you to join us in prayer, reflection, and learning as we seek to walk humbly, love mercy, and pursue reconciliation in the way of Jesus. This day is not only about remembering the past but also about committing ourselves to truth, healing, and hope for the future.

Holy Spirit, help us to pray when it’s hard to find the words. In our reflection and prayer, fill us with your wisdom and help our hearts to resemble your heart.

We offer ourselves as your hands and feet in bringing reconciliation and redemption. May your healing and glory be evident. We ask that our First Nation friends would feel seen, heard, valued, and loved. You are a just God.

We specifically pray for the North America Indigenous Ministries and for Tim Higginbotham. Bless their ministries and guide their steps as they stand alongside Indigenous communities every day of the year.

We also pray for the Mount Currie community. We thank you for the summer camp and celebrate with them as they experienced baptisms during the camp for the first time. We thank you for these changed lives and ask that they would experience your immense love as they are discipled.

We lift up Wylie and Temera as they lead the Mount Currie community. Bless them and their ministry abundantly. We also boldly ask that Temera’s stepdad would experience complete healing from his heart attacks.

We pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
